Screen substances of concern and prepare a SCIP dossier

Check a composition against a versioned candidate-list subset, see the REACH duties, and find supply-chain gaps.

Check a composition against a versioned candidate-list subset, see the REACH duties, and find supply-chain gaps.

What the screening is based on

The platform ships a reviewed, versioned subset of the ECHA Candidate List plus a set of Annex XVII restrictions, and states that clearly. Anything outside that subset is reported as unresolved - never as safe.

Chemical Abstracts Service numbers are check-digit validated before lookup, so a typo is reported as a finding rather than quietly missing a match.

Screening your passport

Screening reads the declared composition wherever it sits in the record and de-duplicates it, keeping the highest declared concentration for each substance, because under-reporting is the failure that matters.

A declared substance with no concentration is treated as unknown and asked for, not assumed absent. The result always names the path the declaration came from.

The obligations that follow

Each screening returns the duties with their legal basis and whether the current declaration satisfies them: information to recipients and to consumers, SCIP notification, authorisation and restriction status, the ESPR data set, and - for substances and mixtures rather than articles - the CLP poison-centre duty.

Article versus mixture is a real branch, inferred from the category and overridable, because SCIP and consumer information duties do not apply to mixtures in the same way. Where markets add national duties, a market parameter switches them on.

Supply-chain propagation

The rollup aggregates each declared substance up the chain at its highest declared concentration and reports the two failures you can decide without masses: a propagation gap, where an upstream node declares a substance above the threshold and the passport does not - which is exactly where a duty gets lost - and a node declaring less than its own upstream.

The SCIP dossier

The dossier assembles article identity, the candidate-list version, concentration ranges as SCIP expresses them, safe-use instructions, the duty list and a checklist of what is still missing. Issuing stores an immutable snapshot; re-issuing supersedes and revoking retires it, with CSV export.

Be clear about the boundary: this is a SCIP-aligned package, not the official IUCLID export. The platform prepares the submission, you file it with ECHA and record the number, and recording that number is what closes the duty.

The public answer and your watchlist

The public passport answers the consumer question with name, concentration range, location, reason for inclusion, safe-use text and the SCIP number, built from the redacted public payload so a confidential path cannot reappear. It warns when the passport claims a substance is present but no detail is public.

The watchlist holds substances that matter below the threshold - retailer lists, internal phase-outs - validated on entry and flagged in every screening and rollup.

Screen-by-screen reference

These pages were checked in the organization console on 8 October 2026 using an isolated sample organization. Controls can differ by role, plan, record state and configured providers. Each page below explains its purpose, a practical workflow, the visible controls and what to verify afterward.

SVHC and SCIP (/substances)

The page screens declared substances against the current candidate-list subset, shows portfolio exposure and organizes obligations and SCIP dossier history.

Select a passport and screen its declared composition against the shown list version, then read thresholds, CAS matches, and missing data together. A watchlist entry keeps a substance visible for follow-up but is not proof that a product contains it. Review supplier evidence and article context before issuing a SCIP-aligned dossier.

A screening result depends on declared composition and the specific list version.

Controls and options

  • Choose a passport and Screen to inspect CAS matches, thresholds, restrictions and missing composition.
  • Use the Watchlist to add a CAS number with optional name and reason for follow-up.
  • Open screened substances and restrictions to inspect the rule and source behind each finding.
  • Issue a SCIP-aligned dossier only after reviewing the relevant article and supplier evidence.
