Follow regulatory change with the watch

Capture pack versions, read classified rule diffs and see which passports a version bump breaks.

Capture pack versions, read classified rule diffs and see which passports a version bump breaks.

Capturing what the packs say

The watch takes a snapshot of every pack you follow: its version, status, effective dates, rule set and a content hash.

Sync is idempotent - a pack that has not changed adds nothing - and the first capture of a pack is recorded as a baseline rather than as a change, so switching the watch on does not report twelve changes at once.

The change feed

When a pack really changes, the feed lists it with a classified rule-level diff: rules are matched by identifier, so a reworded rule is a change rather than a removal plus an addition.

Each change is classified as breaking (a new error-level requirement, or a rule that now demands a different field), tightening, easing, editorial or timing, and the feed states which required fields were added or withdrawn.

The calendar

The calendar lists effective dates with days remaining and a prepare-by date derived from your reporting lead time. A window that has already passed is reported as late rather than hidden, and a draft pack is listed with no date instead of an invented one.

The impact assessment

The impact view evaluates the old and the new rule set over the same set of passport versions, so the difference is exactly what the version bump does: each passport is newly failing, newly passing, still failing or unchanged, with the findings that appeared and the findings that were relieved, plus a remediation plan.

The basis is pack rules only. Your company rules and schema extensions are unchanged by a pack bump, so including them would blur the delta. The response also states plainly that a passport which stops passing has not changed - the rules it is judged against have.

Issued reports

Issue the assessment as an immutable change-management artifact (IMP-CODE-Vn) with the compared versions, the diff counts and the per-passport verdicts, then export it as CSV or revoke it if it is superseded. A pack with only one captured version is refused rather than compared with itself.

Remediation campaigns

From an issued report, an administrator can create a remediation campaign (REM-CODE-n). Every passport in the category is evaluated under the new rule set - as of its effective date when that is still ahead - and each failing passport becomes an item with its findings. The stored report compares at most 500 passports; a campaign covers the whole category.

Ask a supplier for the fields an item's findings name; the request carries one evidence slot, and you send the invitation from the supplier page. Re-check all passports after edits: an item is resolved only when its passport passes the new rules, and a resolved passport that fails again is reopened. Administrators can waive an item with a recorded reason. The audit report (CSV) lists each passport's baseline, findings, outcome and supplier request, and the action inbox shows open campaigns, urgent once overdue.

Screen-by-screen reference

These pages were checked in the organization console on 8 October 2026 using an isolated sample organization. Controls can differ by role, plan, record state and configured providers. Each page below explains its purpose, a practical workflow, the visible controls and what to verify afterward.

Regulatory watch (/watch)

Watch captures pack versions, classifies changes, shows effective dates and compares the same passport versions under old and new rules.

Capture a baseline before expecting a change feed, then compare captured versions of one pack over the same saved passport set. The calendar shows preparation timing, while the feed explains which rules were added, removed, or tightened. Assess impact to identify newly failing records; issue a report only when its frozen comparison is needed for remediation or audit.

An impact assessment evaluates only the selected pack rules and is not a fresh full compliance certification.

Controls and options

  • Sync regulation packs records current versions; the first capture is a baseline, not a change alert.
  • Calendar shows effective dates and preparation lead time; Change feed groups breaking, tightening, easing, editorial and timing changes.
  • Choose a Regulation pack and optional From/To versions, then Assess impact to see newly failing and passing passports.
  • Issue an impact report when you need an immutable change-management reference; use Remediation campaigns to work through failures.
  • Revoke an issued report only with the required authority and reason.

Issued impact report (/watch/reports/[reference])

An issued report freezes the comparison and its affected-passport list at issue time.

Read the frozen pack versions and affected passport list as a historical statement made at issue time. Export its CSV to plan corrections or open the linked campaign for tracked work. If a passport is fixed later, its current state changes but the issued report remains the original evidence of the earlier assessment.

Revoked reports remain visible with their reason.

Controls and options

  • Read the assessed pack versions, affected counts and new or resolved rule findings.
  • Export CSV for an audit or remediation worklist.
  • Open a passport to fix its current data; an old report remains the historical assessment.
  • Create a remediation campaign when the report is issued and no open campaign already tracks it.

Remediation campaigns (/watch/campaigns)

Campaigns turn an issued rule-change report into tracked passport work.

Open a campaign from its issued impact report rather than creating free-form remediation work without a rule-change reference. The list shows who owns the campaign, when it is due, and whether it is still open. Enter the detail view for passport-level findings and supplier follow-up.

A campaign is created from an issued impact report.

Controls and options

  • Read reference, source report, status, due date and owner for each campaign.
  • Open a campaign to see passport-level items and their findings.
  • Back to watch returns to the change feed and impact assessment.

Remediation campaign detail (/watch/campaigns/[id])

Every failing passport becomes an item with its current finding, owner and status.

Filter the campaign to open or awaiting-supplier items, fix the passport or request the missing evidence, then re-check all passports against the captured rule change. Resolve findings on their source records; a waiver records a reasoned exception, not a passing verdict. Export the audit report and record unresolved items in the closing note before closing the campaign.

Closing with failing items records an accepted exception rather than changing their verdict.

Controls and options

  • Filter All, Open, Awaiting supplier, Resolved or Waived to focus the list.
  • Edit passport fixes the declaration; Re-check all passports reruns deterministic rules and updates item status.
  • Ask a supplier creates a focused evidence request, then use the supplier page to send its invitation.
  • Administrators can Waive with reason or Reopen an item; reasons remain in the audit trail.
  • Audit report (CSV) and Impact report preserve the decision trail; Close campaign records any unresolved work in its closing note.
