Review and publish a passport

Use validation findings, the public preview and version history before a passport goes live.

DPP Shield editorial team · Updated:

Run validation, resolve blocking findings, check the public preview, then have an owner or admin publish. If a blocking finding must be accepted, request an override that a second person approves. After publication, edits create a new version while the published one stays live.

Review the draft

  1. Open the passport from the passports list.
  2. Run validation and resolve blocking findings; review warnings.
  3. Open the public preview and check that confidential or incomplete information is redacted.
  4. Ask an owner or admin to publish the approved version, then attach its QR code or GS1 Digital Link carrier.

Overrides and second-person approval

Publication is refused while a mandatory requirement is unmet or the rule pack has not been legally approved. To publish anyway, request an override with a written reason. A different owner or admin must approve it; the approval covers that exact version and markets and expires after a set number of days.

Second-factor confirmation

If you have a second factor enrolled, publishing, bulk publication and override decisions ask you to confirm it again when your last confirmation is older than a few minutes. You return to the same page afterwards.

After publication

Edit the passport when data changes. The edit creates a new version; the published release keeps answering scans until the new version passes the same gate. A recall keeps the passport public with a recall notice, and archiving retires it from operations while its last release stays readable.
