Answer a data request as a supplier
For suppliers: how to open the secure link, answer the questions, upload documents and forward questions to your own supplier.
DPP Shield editorial team · Updated:
Open the personal link in the e-mail you received - no account is needed - answer the requested information, upload each requested document and submit. Questions that only your own supplier can answer can be forwarded to them; they reply to the requesting company directly through their own link.
The link you received
A company using DPP Shield sent you a request for product information. The e-mail contains a personal link to this request: it works without an account, is valid for 14 days and should not be shared. If it has expired, ask the requesting company to send it again.
Answer the request
The page shows the request, the information asked for, the documents requested and any instructions from the requesting company. Answer in your own words in Your response, add context in Additional notes, and upload every requested document - submission is enabled once all of them are attached.
Documents can be PDF, PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP or TIFF files of up to 10 MB each, and every file is scanned for viruses before it is accepted. After you submit, the request shows as completed and you can close the page.
Forward questions to your own supplier
Some information comes from further up your supply chain. Choose Forward questions, enter your supplier's name, e-mail and country, pick the questions and documents to forward and add a note. Your supplier receives their own private link and answers the requesting company directly.
You decide whether to disclose your supplier: share their name and e-mail, or keep them private - the requesting company then sees only “Tier 2 supplier via you”, so keep your own note of who it is. Requests can be forwarded down to the fifth tier, and the page shows whether each forward has been answered.
What happens next
The requesting company reviews your answer and documents and may accept them, reject one with a reason or send a new request. Answer only what you can support: a precise “not known” is more useful to them than an estimate, and documents should cover the product, batch and period that the request names.
